Math Poster Winner
Sharyl Kastens’ second grade class at Waltersville School won first place in Connecticut’s 2007 Statistical Poster competition. There were 27 entries from nine different schools in the K-3 competition category. The competition, which is sponsored by the American Statistical Association, was judged upon clarity of message, appropriateness of graphics for the data, overall impact, and creativity. The awards ceremony will be held on April 28th at 10 am at the Bristol-Myers Squibb building in Wallingford. Ms. Kastens class will be awarded $100 and a blue ribbon, as well as an entry into the national competition in Washington, DC.
